Fuel filters are used in all internal combustion engines to filter the gasoline and diesel fuel, filtering the fuel from contaminants, rust, organic matter and water. Fuel filters can be of two types:
Fuel filters with replaceable filtering elements: These filters are installed in the engine with a protective casing or coating. They are subject to replacement upon the technical maintenance. This type of filters is used in diesel fuel powered engines.
Spin-on filters: These filters form a system consisting of a filtering element and a shell case.
